December is National Tie Month, and I’d like to submit something novel for your consideration: the Faux Tie. This style is not a new phenomenon, but it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I was inspired by the bolo tie. Read more here

Also, this year I collaborated with another heritage brand to show you how you can use this faux tie style with a few simple items that you may already have at hand. Dianne Boyer, an accomplished style maven/blogger from The Harper Girls, and I will quickly show you how to achieve this distinguished look.

Here’s what you’ll need:

*A silk pocket square

*Some thread or a twist tie

*A brooch (preferably one that’s solid in the center so as not to see the closure)

Please see our video on how easily this fun look can be achieved!

And that’s it! I love it. It’s so perfect. Now you know how to quickly and confidently accessorize your look. And you learned a way to incorporate/weave family traditions into your ensemble.

Thanks for reading.  If you have a friend that you know will love this, make sure you share it with them.
